May Days - blog, linux, codeberg

Another small this and that post. Blog Stuff I decided to remove all web fonts from my blog. At the end it was nearly 500Kb just for a slightly different font. Well, I used self-hosted WOFF2 Fonts. Nevertheless, tiny is better. Also at the footer of each post I integrated a webmention display via webmention.io. And last but not least, I updated the /uses page. Home Desktop Win Free 1st of may is a public holiday in germany, I used to extended weekend to debug a small thing which got on my nerves recently. My home Desktop boot time was annoying me. Sometimes it needed 1-2 minutes to show the login screen. Don’t get me wrong, I am not always in a rush - but this is one hting I cant stand; Having a system I know it should boot in <20s and seeing something is not right. Just bugs me and causes something I call a “frustration focus” so it had to be solved no matter what. Guess what; It was the 2nd SSD in my System with a Win11 on it for dual boot. If you played WoW in the beginnings, you might compare it with an automatic TOC patcher. In AoC, the versioning of mods goes one step further or backwards depending on how you see it. Each XML File in a Modification has its own special version numbering which looks like: ...

My WoW Character

Hey, just a heads-up that this content is based on an automatically imported version from our old CMS. If the formatting isn’t perfect, I’m sorry about that. Translation This original post is written in german 🇩🇪, a rough Translation: World of Warcraft was the most commercially successful MMORPG in 2005–2006. I started because friends made me curious. Compared to hardcore RPGs like Ultima Online, quests feel shallow and item-focused, but the huge community and raids are compelling. The customizable LUA UI drew me in; I built several addons. I play one main: a Druid. ...
